Which Cofete jeep tour to book: the €57 one, and why the popular €65 one is not it
Updated October 1, 2026 · 8 min read
For most people the answer is the Cofete Beach and “Villa Winter” Tour: €57, four hours, the best-rated of the group, hotel pickup in Jandía, and the one euro the house charges is already in the price. If what you want is time on the sand rather than a guided interior, take Kingdom Jandia: Cofete Beach & Roque Del Moro at €59, which parks you there for about ninety minutes. To go all the way to the end of the peninsula, book the Jeep Safari to Cofete and the Punta Jandía lighthouse at €85.
The four tours side by side
| Tour | Duration | From | Rating | What you get at Cofete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cofete Beach and “Villa Winter” Tour | 4 hours | €57 | 4.8 from 1,817 reviews | 35 min guided in the house, 35 min free on the beach |
| Kingdom Jandia: Cofete Beach & Roque Del Moro | 4 hours | €59 | 4.6 from 425 reviews | about 90 min free on the beach, plus Roque del Moro |
| Cofete Beach Jeep Safari | 3 hours | €65 | 4.5 from 2,578 reviews | 35 min free on the beach |
| Jeep Safari Cofete & Punta Jandía Lighthouse | 5 hours | €85 | 4.5 from 161 reviews | the beach plus the lighthouse at the end of the track |

The comparison nobody makes on the booking page
The most-booked tour of the four is the three-hour safari at €65. It has 2,578 reviews, more than the other three put together, and it is the one most people land on first.
It is also the shortest and the dearest per hour. Eight euros less buys you the four-hour tour with Villa Winter, which is rated 4.8 against 4.5. Two euros more than that buys the four-hour tour that leaves you on the beach for an hour and a half instead of thirty-five minutes.
None of that makes the €65 safari a bad tour. Its own listing is honest about what it is: hotel pickup from a long list of southern resorts, a driver, a guide, twenty minutes of viewpoints above Morro Jable, ten at the Mirador del Viento, then the descent and thirty-five minutes on the sand. If three hours is all the time you have, it does the job. What it does not do is cost less than the longer options, and that is the part the booking page will never point out.

What the extra hour actually contains
The Villa Winter tour spends thirty-five minutes inside the house with a guide, and the one-euro entrance the owners charge is included rather than collected at the door. The rest of the four hours is a photo stop the operator keeps unnamed, the Mirador de Cofete, and thirty-five minutes of free time on the beach. The booking page lists children under 2 and people with mobility impairments as unsuitable.
Villa Winter is the reason half the people on the bus are there, and it is also where most of the nonsense about this coast comes from. What is documented and what is legend we have separated in Villa Winter in Cofete.
The Kingdom Jandia tour makes the opposite trade. No house, no guided interior, but Land Cruisers, the Roque del Moro at the southern end of the bay, and roughly ninety minutes of beach. If you have been driven somewhere spectacular and then given half an hour, you will know why that matters.

The long version, for people who want the end of the road
Two tours keep going past the beach. The five-hour safari adds the lighthouse at Punta Jandía, which has been in service since 1864 and stands about twenty kilometres of unpaved track from the tarmac. The five to seven hour Cofete Safari and Treasures of Jandia at €69 takes in El Puertito and the same southern tip, and holds 4.7 stars from 153 reviews.
Both are a lot of unmade road. On a windy day that is a lot of dust, and in the back of a jeep it is a lot of jolting. We have written up the tower itself in the Punta Jandía lighthouse.
One phrase to ignore while you compare: the five-hour listing calls the area the “Cofete National Park”. There is no such thing. Cofete lies inside the Parque Natural de Jandía, which is a different legal category and not a national park.

Why you are buying a driver and not a view
The road over the ridge to Cofete is unsurfaced, narrow and exposed, and hire companies on this island commonly forbid it in writing. One local firm states plainly that driving off any surfaced road is prohibited; others allow it for a surcharge. A verbal yes at the desk is not a contract clause, and the excess you thought you had does not apply on a road the contract excluded.
That is the honest case for paying €57 to someone else: not the commentary, not the photo stops, but the fact that the vehicle is theirs. If you are weighing it up anyway, the conditions are set out in excess, deposit and what gets added at the desk, and you can compare hire cars for Fuerteventura before you decide.
The beach itself is the other half of the honesty. Cofete faces the open Atlantic with no shelter and no supervision of any kind: no lifeguards, patchy mobile reception, and surf and currents that are considered dangerous, with swimming expressly advised against. None of these four tours says that loudly enough. We do, in the jeep safari to Cofete.
When to book none of them
When you are based in Corralejo with one free day. Morro Jable is 111 road kilometres away and the tour starts there, not at your hotel.
When the forecast says calima. The whole point of this trip is a view across twelve kilometres of empty sand, and in a dust episode visibility drops to nothing.
When three hours in a jeep on washboard track is a medical question for someone in your party rather than a comfort one. All four operators state their own limits on the booking page.
And when what you actually want is a beach day. This is a landscape you look at, not one you swim in.
Otherwise, the €57 four-hour tour is the one to buy: the best rating of the group, the house included, and eight euros cheaper than the tour everyone else books.
